Chicago has experienced its coldest wind chill since 2022, hitting nearly Minus 35.

It’s not over yet. Friday January 23rd, 2026 at night will be just as cold or colder. Not only this, but there is a snow storm coming as well.

Saturday and Sunday could bring up to 4 inches of snow or more. If the storm (which is moving below Chicago) shifts north at all, we could see even more snow than 4 inches.

The roads will be slick and the temps are going to stay low, so salt won’t be doing much to help.

Drive safely and be careful out there, Chicagoans.

The Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and Adler Planetarium along with many government offices and schools closed Friday.
